The price of housing is through the roof in the Balearic Islands, especially in coastal areas, according to reports from the real estate portal Pisos.com. Based on a study recently released, five coastal towns on the Islands are among the ten most expensive in Spain. However, the aforementioned document also specifies which municipality on the Balearic coast is the most economical to purchase a property.
This is Es Castells (Menorca), where the square meter sells on average for 3,093 euros, so a 90 square meter house can be purchased for 273,870 euros. The price is quite high and many people cannot access it, since the Minimum Interprofessional Salary (SMI) for 2024 is 15,876 euros per year distributed in 14 payments of 1,134 euros.
