What is the Okupa movement and how can we protect ourselves?

Friday, 08 October, 2021

Okupa is a movement that began in the 70's that seek the opportunity to forcibly and illegally invade an abandoned apartment, chalet or building. In Europe this type of people is very common, more than everything in Spain due to the difficult situation of acquiring a private property, there is the risk of going on vacation or a business trip, and on the way back the apartment is invaded by a group of Okupas that they refuse to vacate the property.

Spain is considered a Okupa’s paradise, due to the inefficient law regarding defending the rights of the legal owner.

Now how can I prevent Okupas invasion?

There are several ways to prevent break-ins in your home.

Among them is the installation of doors, bars and windows, accompanied by modern anti ocuppies security locks.

Always have the mailbox free since it is a clear alert that the property is unoccupied.

Maintain smart lights and windows, for a movement inside the apartment.

Have CCTV and movement ALARMS.
